When I was working with homeless men, nearly all of them had absent fathers. Father is the first experience of authority. A person's conception of Government and God comes from early experiences with earthy father. Without an earthly father, people have a challenge feeling like government is a viable authority because father, as an objective authority was absent. The same goes for God. Absent earthly father? People have trouble conceptualizing God as an authority, let alone a benevolent savior.

Women have an absent father to. My father was there too much and then he felt guilty about it and abandoned me. So when it comes to intimacy I do not know whether I am coming or going. This is why I use the term ambivalent to refer to myself.
Change is to human life what the metamorphosis is to the caterpillar. It is the inevitable cycle of life. Without change there is no life.
