Find her, rescue her, take her home with you, set limits with her, validate her pain, comfort her, play with her. Don't expect her to grow up. You grow up. She remains the same. When she comes out, she is out. Never shame or embarrass her. If your friends do not love your inner child they do not love you. Keep her safe from judgmental people.
In her book,Addiction to Love, Susan endorses the inner child movement and suggests that you learn to set limits with your little boy or girl. She believes that the inner child is eternal and is always there even though she can sleep for years at a time.
