Ok so a while back I remember wanting to do the baby doll that represents yourself thing. I couldn't find any I liked or they were to expensive. I never got around to it. I have recently been searching on ebay for childhood toys and things and it has become quite addicting and I am not sure now if wanting these toys or getting them is or isn't healthy. Does anyone have any input?
I did this a few years ago as well ( maybe 10 years ago) and I re sold most of them on ebay like an idiot cause I want the back. The other things burned up in the fire.
Is craving something from your childhood when you didn't have a good one unhealthy? Is going through with it and buying them unhealthy? I guess in a way I feel like they will fill a void or bring me happiness. I now they won't complete me or make my life better but I want them! I already bought something that I had when younger that I adored and am waiting to find the other one of this same thing I had. When it arrived I cried and now sleep with it most nights.
I am not obsessive yet. I only have one thing, but I do also tend to pick out dolls, and vintage toys even if I didn't ever have them when I am at a garage sale or something. I am not a hoarder yet, I don't even have enough to fill up a shelf although maybe if I didn't have the fire I might. I don't want to end up on my strange addiction. I will only buy it is it really calls to me . Someone just tell me if this is unhealthy or not.
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result
I have no idea if it's unhealthy or not. I myself love childhood toys and love trying to find them on ebay or at antique stores...the only drawback being how rare most are and how expensive, now. I guess one thing to keep in mind is how much you can afford...

I think it is not unhealthy as everyone whether he is young or a child love to search attractive toys. It is noticeable that when you look for toys for your children you will be act like an addictive because children do not know what you are buying for them, only you search and know and choose a toy of your choice. So, how it can be unhealthy?

I say healthy! When I was about two years into recovery my sponsor and I would go into stores and check out all the toys. I would check out girls and boys toys and buy what ever I liked and play with it for a while and then give it to Goodwill. I still love stuffed animals, it's all good. Love what ever toys you wish, vintage or new You are good.
