Thank you! Could you tell me what POA means? Is it person of addiction? Or something like that? What exactly is it? I mean, what does it stand for? And what is it? But I have an idea what it is. I need to know what it stands for. But you can tell me what it is so I know for sure what it is too. I don't know if there is anywhere here that tells me what POA is. I imagine there is, but I haven't looked at everything.
For years there were just two people on this board. Me and Rainbow Always. You can still see her posts as she created the board for the 12 Steps. She was the one who coined the expression Person of Addiction and it stuck. It is the person you were addicted to. The person you obsessed about. The person you were willing to give your heart and soul to. It may be the person who brought you to recovery. It is also the person you need to put behind you so you can move on to a Person Who Loves you. It is a person not your Higher Power. It is not the person who deserves you.
Later other members of the board introduced the concept of No Contact and today that is the heart of how to treat withdrawal. These ideas did not come from me. I love this board, and I love that I had a small part of what today is a flourishing message board with over 5,000 members and a newcomer everyday. God is good. Remember, after we have helped you, "Pass it On."
